Saturday was a gorgeous day, perfect weather for New Old Franklin Day. This year featured more vendors and activities than recent years. Institute Street was lined with booths of local vendors and organizations. In front of Stone Hall was the Ross Park ZooMobile with unusual animals for all to see. We had a Bounce House and Balloon Darts for kids and kids-at-heart. As always, you must get your pie from St. Paul’s and grilled sausage from Rotary early or you will miss out.
Main Street was buzzing with activity from Wise Guys Pizza to the Franklin Railroad and Community Museum. The antique stores were open and busy, the Tulip & Rose Café was welcoming, and there were many yard sales all around.
Music: Bluegrass Train Engine played in front of Burgin’s Auto while the Laughing Buddha Episodes came back to play in the village park. People of all ages danced to the Georgie Wonders Orchestra in the Franklin Central School auditorium.
